CTM is looking for an intern to support its Communications/Promotion department for the CTM.13 festival, which runs January 28 – February 3, 2012 in Berlin.

The annual CTM festival presents a comprehensive overview of outstanding, current international productions, electronic and experimental music via a mix of concerts, performances, and club events, as well as with a supporting program of panel discussions, workshops, presentations, video screenings, and art installations dedicated to technological, social and artistic issues in music culture. CTM is concerned mainly with the artistic aspects of contemporary music production, as well as with the social role of music in the context of the “electronic” and “digital culture”.

The Communications internship provides the opportunity to:
- Gain insight into the public relations, marketing, communications, and editorial work involved in producing a festival
- Exchange with international artists, agents, and labels, and with local music and art initiatives/professionals
- Observe the overall production processes of a festival

Main areas of responsibility:
- Research and acquisition of materials for the festival catalog and website
- Support of public relations work (production of promotional / printed materials, merchandising, coordinating interviews, create press review, etc)
- Assist in coordinating festival promotion on a local, national and European level
- Assist in coordinating CTM professional and partner initiatives
- Online editorial work: support, updates, and content entry
- Proofreading of catalogue and press texts

Essential qualifications include:
- Good knowledge of Office (especially Word, Excel) and internet research
- Structured work with much attention to details
- Flexibility and willingness to teamwork
- Interest and basic knowledge in the field of contemporary music, media and visual arts

Other useful qualifications (not essential):
- Knowledge of German
- Basic knowledge of Photoshop
- Basic experience with a content management system
- Background in culture, music, media studies, journalism or a similar field

Period of activity:
15th October 2012 to 31 March 2013

A monthly allowance of € 100. The work load is on average 4 days a week.
